Major Duties:

  • The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a S&TI intelligence analyst engaging in the complex technical analysis and production of information obtained and processed from one or more intelligence sources in support of customer requirements. DUTY 1: Leads, Directs and/or Conducts research and coordinates collection. DUTY 2: Leads, Directs and/or Conducts complex analysis and production. DUTY 3: Lead, Directs, and/or Conducts engagement and outreach. DUTY 4: Serves as Senior Science & Technical Intelligence Subject Matter Expert.

Qualifications: This position is covered under DCIPS work level (WL) 3 and covers the GG-13 and GG-14 grade levels for pay purposes. The selectee's salary will be set within the salary range based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the position as determined by the selecting official. BASIC REQUIREMENT: Must have bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree in engineering, mathematics, a physical science or a life or social science plus five years of relevant experience. Relevant experience include: Leading the execution of intelligence methodologies/tradecraft; data collection/information systems; analytic tradecraft; multi-source intelligence data/information analysis; mentoring analysts in methodology/tradecraft; weapons system analysis; and military analysis. Customer/partner interaction and collaboration; leading peers. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Professional knowledge and mastery of a broad range of engineering and intelligence principles and the ability to apply methodologies, and concepts to accurately identify engineering and intelligence requirements or shortfalls in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment to determine potential courses of action, provide technical advice and direction, and/or recommend solutions to satisfy open requirements and resolve shortfalls. Knowledge of a comprehensive range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multi-source intelligence information systems to capture data in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities, new hypotheses and theories, and threat assessments to interpret policy and commit resources. Professional Knowledge of advanced analytical tradecraft principles, concepts, and methods to produce detailed analyses of complex information/situations attained from multiple sources, to include database manipulation. Knowledge of cognitive biases, competing hypothesis, and formation of critical arguments/evidence, likelihood or probability terms and analytical judgments. Knowledge of intelligence production process and latest best practices. Knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint partners, DoD structure, organizations, and mission/functions, inter-relationships and operations. Knowledge of Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and the Standards, Guides, and Best Practices of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). Skill in conducting unbiased complex research, identifying appropriate available systems/data sources, and producing collection requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage agency capabilities in support of consumers, customers, and clients. Mastery ability in oral and written delivery of intelligence in the form of briefings, conferences, VTCs, and intelligence production processes. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: Position is designated special sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
