The Boeing Company is looking for an Integration & Test Software Engineering Manager (Level K) to join the E-7A Mission Software Integration & Test team located in Tukwila, Washington. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.

This position will manage a team of software integration & test engineers that are responsible for software integration, test, and verification activities of the mission systems software used on the E-7A Wedgetail.  This team is responsible for the program’s software test plan, software deployment to various test labs, and production aircraft.  In addition to production software, this management position may include oversight of research and development, as well as internal applications development programs that are relevant to the platform.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering and test

  • Develops and executes project and test plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in software integration and test engineering

  • 2+ years of delivering qualified production software

  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing software engineering activities

  • Experience with software architecture and software implementation

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 5+ years of integrating embedded software with aerospace systems

  • 5+ years of scripting and test automation

  • 3+ years of experience developing software

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across disparate engineering teams

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute test campaigns on complex systems

  • Ability to proactively and quickly make sense of complex issues

  • Gains the trust of others by demonstrating openness and honesty, behaving consistently, and acting in accordance with moral, ethical, professional, and organizational guidelines

  • Experience with mentoring, coaching, and growing software engineering teams

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range for Manager Level K: $164,050.00 - $221,950.00
