About the Role  

You are a trusted member on the path to great creative and business leadership. You are expected to be able to represent Ogilvy’s strategy thinking and points of view in how the “Make Brand Matters”. You are learning to teach the next generation of strategists and developing your voice as a thought leader. 

 As an Integrated Strategist, you are integral to your team. You independently run the “day to day” projects and briefs with some guidance. The broader team look to your help in proving an argument or flesh out a brief. Management knows you can be trusted to establish and substantiate a point of view. You are expected to take part in Client's meeting, delivering insight based strategic POVs. You also demonstrate passion and knowledge for social media and digital marketing, with a deep understanding of platform trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. 

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Understand the strategic task from the account team and make suggestions at the operational level to make the strategic plan more focused and efficient.  
  • Bring integrated strategic capabilities across 3-4 blue chip accounts at Ogilvy.   
  • Integrated Communication Planning: Assist the senior planning staff to complete the integrated communication Planning with the joint efforts of the fellow departments  
  • Writing creative briefs  
  • Identifying tensions, and understanding propositions and strategic positionings  
  • Beginning to understand and respond to creative work with reference to insights  
  • Communications planning – identifying the roles for comms and channels, including new media and platforms. 
  • Be a strong key player for selected new business pitch wins, and other strategic scopes in collaboration with Ogilvy offices in other markets.  
  • Broadening your skills across the agency through other projects (EFFIES, Pitches etc.)  
  • Demonstrate cross-function coordination capabilities, proactively engage in cross-function strategy work and inspire project members to quickly deliver strategic output  
  • Bringing fact-based knowledge and insights to inspire creative and strategic development.  
  • Obtain, consolidate, and analyze the basic materials with joint efforts with the account team.  
  • Contribute to the upskilling of Strategy Team members in integrated strategy capabilities.  
  • Supervise and grow at least 1 strategic intern/trainee.   
  • Passionate and supportive teamwork; can provide team members with enlightening case studies, relevant content and sharing ideas.

What You’ll Need  

  • 5-years of experience in a similar role in the Mar-Coms industry, campaigns experience is much preferable.  
  • Demonstrated passion for social media and digital marketing, with a deep understanding of platform trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. 
  • Qualitative skills: learning to write a discussion guide, set up and conduct basic interviews, summarize findings, and edit video clips. You can use qual to give flavor to your story.  
  • Be interested in what motivates people, as well as the changing trends and fashions affecting consumers.  
  • Confident about ‘constructing’ brands and demonstrate an interest in brands in general, not just their communications.  
  • Have strong presentation and negotiation skills, both in Vietnamese and English  
  • Be skilled at analyzing research and able to translate this into action plans  
  • Be organized and able to think strategically both long and short-term.  
  • Have a good memory for facts and figures.  
  • Be able to work with a range of people and as part of a team.  
  • Be persuasive, flexible, and FUN to talk to and work with.  
  • A portfolio may be required for this position.
