Role Title: Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manager
Role Background and Scope:
Amentum has been tasked by Defence to source a range of specialist resources to provide support for the delivery of a range of patrol vessels, specialist ships, and maritime capabilities for the Royal Australian Navy, the Australian Border Force, and partner nations. This includes:
- Delivering six Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Royal Australian Navy.
- Delivering a new sail training ship.
- Delivering twenty‑four Patrol Boats to Pacific and Indian Ocean partner nations under the Commonwealth’s Pacific Maritime Security Program.
- Delivering ten Patrol Boats for the Royal Australian Navy.
- Delivering up to eleven additional Patrol Boats for the Australian Border Force.
- Managing procurement of vessels and vessel‑like assets for Defence and other agencies.
- Supporting other tasking as directed by senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
The Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manager will be tasked with the provision of support via maritime ILS expertise to the Offshore Patrol and Specialist Ships (OPSS) Branch within the Naval Shipbuilding & Sustainment Group. This role ensures logistics, sustainment, and asset management considerations are fully integrated into patrol and specialist ship programs, supporting effective transition into service and long‑term operational availability.
The ILSM will be responsible for:
- Provision of Integrated Logistics Support, Logistics Support Analysis, Technical Data, Configuration Management and NLIS on-boarding advice, assistance and oversight; including analysis, definition, planning, acquisition, transition, in-service management, sustainment, asset management, and disposal;
- Provision of guidance and mentoring to Project team members (including APS and ADF where applicable)
- Ensuring lessons learnt are incorporated into management functions.
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment on matters related to operational milestones
- Review of engineering change proposals and contract deliverables
Essential Requirements:
- Qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Maritime), Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain Management/Logistics or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in supporting maritime or naval acquisition and sustainment programs
- Long term experience delivering and overseeing logistics support across the capability life cycle in a maritime or naval environment
- Experience working across multiple concurrent projects balancing priorities and stakeholder requirements
- Proven ability to mentor and guide project team members including APS and ADF staff in ILS and sustainment practices
- Solid background in the engagement of key stakeholders including Navy, APS, ADF, industry contractors, and sustainment organisations.
- Demonstrated ability to capture, analyse, and embed lessons learnt into ILS planning, processes, and management functions.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience with Defence sustainment and logistics systems
- Formal ILS or LSA training or certification
- Experience contributing to capability transition into service and early in-service support
