Pfizer is seeking an experienced Director of Integrated Insights & Strategy (IIS) that will lead strategic thought partnership to the US brand leads of a high-value vaccine. Reporting to the IIS Therapeutic Area Team Lead, this person will serve as the senior member of a brand-aligned team of strategists responsible for identifying and developing opportunities in performance to unlock brand value and to advise the business on drivers of transformational change. 

As a member of the IIS team in the larger Global Commercial Analytics (GCA) organization at Pfizer, you will work with a team that is an important source of intellectual insight on commercial brand strategy, framing business problems in a way that the business can then execute to drive impact and unlock value. Specifically, IIS is responsible for identifying and developing opportunities in performance to unlock brand value and to advise the business on drivers of transformational change.  IIS harnesses insights from multiple sources across GCA, leading day-to-day problem solving, team management, and business partner management.  IIS leverages their deep functional knowledge, exceptional intellectual curiosity, and proprietary GCA tools to every business interaction, while managing and developing strategic relationships and ensuring the highest quality work, and inspiring, leading and developing new IIS colleagues.

The ideal candidate is someone with a proven track record of high-value brand consultancy, responsible for framing, designing & executing solutions for challenging business situations.  They will have an in-depth knowledge of multiple analytic disciplines, with a keen understanding of output and quality/timely insight derivation. Their team orientation and collaborative approach, along with their outstanding listening skills and ability to manage through influence, will enable their exceptional intellectual and analytical curiosity to shine.  Their sophisticated executive demeanor and comfort functioning with senior brand VPs along with their excellent presentation skills, including strong verbal and writing capabilities, will drive their success.  As will their ability to work proactively (and independently when necessary) along with collaboratively in a team environment to influence and drive change at all levels in an organization.

Commercial Brand Strategy

  • Act as a key strategic thought partner to US commercial teams to frame, investigate, and answer key business questions related to the identification and evaluation of commercial strategies, tactics and investment decisions.
  • Develop and lead regular patient journey-based business reviews tied to budgetary goals to ensure cross-functional teams are aware of ongoing performance opportunities and suggest ideas for optimization.
  • Connect research and analytics together to tell a compelling and persuasive story and deliver clear and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Lead identification of information needs and development of market research and data analysis plans.
  • Develop strong relationships with key Commercial and cross functional stakeholders to drive strategic thought partnership
  • Promotional Strategy and Execution Insights
  • Develop and monitor key performance metrics and work in close collaboration with cross functional partners to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of a brand’s marketing campaign.
  • Recommend campaign improvement and corrective actions.
  • Integrate campaign insights to broader analytic activities to paint the full picture of marketing execution and customer behavior and inform resource allocation decisions.
  • Play a key role in advancing the vision for the future direction of brand activities.

Operating Plan Support

  • In partnership with key Pfizer stakeholders, act as lead for the development of Operating Plans.
  • Collaborate with the IIS Lifecycle Strategist (Forecasting lead) and US marketing leads.

Collaboration with Other Analytics Teams

  • Lead dialogue to integrate insights across various cross-functional teams – market research, data science, performance analytics and media.
  • Actively contribute to advancement of team capabilities through thought leadership; seek to share knowledge and expertise with other colleagues making use of knowledge sharing platform.
  • Alignment with other analytic teams to ensure cohesive activities with our stakeholders.
  • Partner with other analytic functions to advance the use of novel data sources including RWD.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Psychology, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering or similar related field required; MS or MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years in consulting, finance or market analytics
  • 5+ years at a high-value level (e.g., US & Global) developing data-driven brand strategy for major assets (>$1B)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop analytic plans and lead research projects with a budget of >$1M annually
  • Defined involvement in helping frame, design & execute solutions for challenging business situations
  • In-depth knowledge of multiple analytic disciplines, including primary market research and secondary data, with a keen understanding of output and quality/timely insight derivation
  • Proven track record of being an indispensable thought partner to senior brand leaders and influencing without authority
  • Team-orientation and collaborative approach; outstanding listening skills and the ability to manage through influence
  • Exceptional intellectual and analytical curiosity, a creative visionary who can drive innovation
  • Sophisticated executive demeanor, comfortable functioning at the highest levels of organizations; excellent presentation skills, including strong verbal and writing capabilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to influence and drive change at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work proactively and independently if and when required
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent PPT and Excel skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of vaccines experience
  • Understanding of IQVIA (DDD, LAAD) and other secondary data sources

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $162,900.00 to $261,000.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
