Employment Term: Maximum Term to July 2026, Full-Time (76 hours per fortnight)
Location: Rockhampton
Remuneration: $38.65 p/hr + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Your part in our UnitingCare team
Family and Child Connect (FACC) Service provides information and advice to people seeking assistance for children and families where there are concerns about their wellbeing. The Service provides information and advice based on an assessment of the family’s needs or connects families with the right support.
The Intake Worker is the first point of contact for the families accessing the Family and Child Connect (FACC) Service.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Assess, screen and process referrals.
Ensure client consent is obtained and that appropriate documentation and data entry is completed.
Ensure relevant information packs and referral pathway information are available and maintained.
At the direction of the Team Leader and/or Domestic Violence Specialist Facilitator, determine the referral priority and the manner of engagement with the child (ren) and family in the intake and assessment process.
Assist families to access support services including practical and crisis support where necessary and provide follow up as required.
Assist with establishing tools and processes to ensure the first point of access for families referred into the service.
What makes a difference for us?
Experience or willingness to gain experience in the community services sector.
Current open QLD drivers’ licence.
Current QLD working with children check (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain
Experience in intake, engagement, assessment and risk assessment work within family support services.
Exposure to working across the community sector and child protection systems to support vulnerable infants, children, youth and families.
An understanding of and willingness to apply a range of theoretical approaches relevant to working with vulnerable infants, children, youth and families whilst providing risk and safety assessment.
