Job Description:
General Description: Compiles and verifies patient account balances.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Records payments to patient accounts and maintains accounts receivable records.
- Contacts insurance companies to verify patient coverage and obtain information concerning benefits
- Enters cash receipts and updates accounts receivable records
- Mails invoice copies for patients
- Researches and processes patient claims, charge backs, returned checks
- Answers account receivable phone inquiries
- Contacts patients regarding outstanding balances
- Rebills insurance companies or other third parties to secure payment
General Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associate's degree required.
Experience: 0-3 years of accounting experience required.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: None.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Writes clearly and informatively, edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively.
- Able to read and interpret written information.
- Uses equipment and materials properly.
- Observes safety and security procedures.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn database software.
