We are seeking a talented individual to join our Client and Member Services team at Mercer Administration Services. This role will be based in the Wollongong office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office after the successful completion of training.
As an Insurance Administrator you will case manage your own portfolio of claims and, utilising your customer service skills and empathetic approach, will support our client’s customers through the disability insurance claim process. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate confidence and empathy when conversing on the phone with distressed fund members.
We will count on you to:
Complete online claim notifications to the insurer while you have the member on the phone
Actively manage your portfolio of claims, keeping the member updated during the claims process
Enjoy the personal satisfaction of helping people through a difficult time in their lives
Assess early release of superannuation applications, ensuring legislative requirements are met, preparing recommendations for the trustee delegate, and processing benefit payments to members.
Respond to member enquiries in an empathetic, timely and professional manner
Be involved in team discussions and contribute to process improvement ideas
What you need to have:
Experience in the superannuation industry
Strong empathy, resilience in dealing with distressed and/or sensitive matters
Well developed organisational and time management skills
A high standard of both verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write emails and letters to a high professional standard
Demonstrated ability to analyse complex information
Sound knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Outlook, and to a lesser extent, Excel)
What makes you stand out:
RG146 qualified or aptitude and willingness to complete certification
Experience in insurance claims case management or disability claims case management
