The Department of Communication Studies at Louisiana State University expects to hire a full-time instructor who will also serve as the Assistant Director of the LSU Speech and Debate Team. In addition to teaching a 3-3 course load in the Department of Communication Studies, this instructor will coach and travel to competitions with the LSU Speech & Debate Team. The LSU Speech and Debate Team is a comprehensive program as students take part in AFA style individual events, LD, and IPDA.
Job Responsibilities:
Teach courses and hold regular office hours - 75%
Serve as Assistant Director of Forensics for Mixon Lyceum Speech and Debate Team - 20%
Other duties as assigned - 5%
Requirements will include a master’s or equivalent degree, evidence of outstanding teaching, and experience with forensics (preferably with directing or assisting the direction of a comprehensive speech and debate program).
