Job Description:

ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE IN NURSING FULL TIME NURSING INSTRUCTOR

DEPARTMENT: School of Nursing 
POSITION TITLE: ASSOCIATE OF SCTENCE IN NURSING FULL TIME NURSING INSTRUCTOR

SUPERVISOR: Director, School of Nursing 
PURPOSE: Full time nursing faculty assume responsibility for the delivery of classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction as well as advising, scholarship and service requirements within ASN programs. This is a 9-month non-tenure track academic position. 

RESPONSIBILITES:

•    Teaching in ASN Program (Primary)
•    Incorporate student learning teaching/learning strategies in classroom and lab/clinical instruction.
•    Participate in Department of Nursing and University Committees.
•    Ensure student compliance with health requirements.
•    Participate in student counseling and advising.
•    Schedule office hours in compliance with University Policy.
•    Evaluate student performance in classroom and clinical courses.
•    Develop course schedules and syllabi in compliance with department and University policies.
•    Exhibits a strong commitment to nursing student success and to LSUA
•    Demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to work independently.
•    Follows faculty policies and guidelines in compliance with University and School of Nursing Policy

QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Master's degree in nursing
•    Two years clinical experience as register nurse
•    Active Louisiana RN license or Multi-State License
•    CPR certified with documented health compliance as required of nursing faculty
