Job Description:

Instructor of Business

The College of Business at Louisiana State University of Alexandria invites applications for a full-time Instructor of Business. We are seeking an educator who is committed to teaching excellence, student success, and the mission of an institution that values innovation, engagement, and service to Central Louisiana.

The Instructor of Business will teach undergraduate courses in the field of management and/or marketing, support curriculum development, advise and mentor students, and contribute to a collaborative academic environment. This position is a 9-month, non-tenure-track faculty appointment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach a five-course load in areas such as introductory business, management, marketing, information systems, or other fields aligned with the candidate's expertise and departmental needs.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality, student-centered instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with students, including regular office hours.
  • Support ACBSP accreditation by contributing to assessment, documentation, and continuous improvement of academic programs.
  • Support student recruitment, retention, and outreach initiatives.
  • Participate in curriculum planning, program review, and development of applied learning opportunities.
  • Support student success initiatives, such as advising, mentoring, and participation in experiential learning programs (e.g., internships, competitions, community-based projects).
  • Engage in service to the College, University, and community, including committee work and involvement in outreach or business-community partnerships.
  • Stay informed on current business trends, technologies, and teaching practices to ensure coursework remains relevant and rigorous.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the college level or strong potential for effective teaching.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, professionalism, and a commitment to fostering a

positive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching a range of undergraduate business courses.
  • Professional experience in business, management, or marketing.
  • Familiarity with ACBSP accreditation, assessment processes, and data-driven curriculum development.
  • Experience integrating technology, analytics, or AI-enhanced tools into business operations.
