About the Role
The Providencia Group is searching for an Instructional Designer who can actively support the entire design/development/implementation/evaluation cycle for a variety of training areas. The Instructional Designer will be a part of the training team tasked with providing comprehensive training to a diverse, nationwide, decentralized workforce. As the company expands the scope of its workforce, the training team will be positioned to meet new needs, working with subject matter experts and outside resources to develop training material and curriculums.
It is essential that the Instructional Designer bring innovative solutions and collaborative skills to this fast-paced, dynamic human services environment. Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and curriculum development are essential, as well as experience across the spectrum of training modalities. The Instructional Designer should demonstrate high level capabilities in creative problem-solving, verbal, and written communication, and organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities include:
Support curriculum development for training-related projects, managing them from inception to release and ensure content is maintained after launch.
Conduct training needs analysis, as needed.
Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs.
Design training programs to be delivered through different modalities, depending on project need.
Develop end-of-training assessments for analysis.
Create schedule and project timeline and coordinate project tasks with the training director.
Work closely with the training team to cover all aspects of training, meet milestones, and produce deliverables as outlined by the training director.
Develop instructor materials (course outline, background material, and training aids) and learner materials (workbooks, handouts, completion certificates, and program feedback forms) using industry best practices and customer requirements.
Conduct instructor-led training including formal classroom courses, workshops, seminars and/or computer-based training, as required. Delivery may require non-standard hours to accommodate the time zones of the learners.
Ensure content and structure of all training documents are documented and maintained in the appropriate repository.
Continuously monitor and improve the quality and efficiency of training processes and procedures by evaluating the instructor's performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
Ensure all products and deliverables conform to requirements, including 508 compliance.
Duties are performed via a government approved computer system. Employees are required to possess strong computer skills in MS Word and Excel.
Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice.
What we’re looking for
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design or related area, Master’s Degree preferred
4+ years of experience in curriculum development and implementation with adult learners
Preferred: experience working in human services or social service settings
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of training assessment and evaluation processes
Extensive experience using technologies to create and deliver trainings, including software programs and LMS systems
Must possess strong computer skills in MS Office, including Excel, Word, & MS Teams
Ability to type 45 wpm
The Work Environment –
Currently, primarily remote work but must be prepared for onsite work. If working remotely in a home environment, must have a dedicated workspace conducive to full videoconferencing (camera and audio) for facilitating webinars and online discussions.
Work Schedule –
Varies depending on needs. May include evenings and weekends to meet different time zones and projects. Travel may occur, as needed.
