The Opportunity 

Embark on an exciting opportunity as an Instructional Designer I with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Worldwide Campus. In this role, you will contribute to the development of high-quality, adult learning-focused online courses that support both academic and non-credit programs.

You will collaborate closely with faculty, media specialists, instructional design team members, and cross-functional partners to design, develop, and maintain engaging online learning experiences. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in course production, innovation, and continuous improvement within a dynamic Academic Innovation team.

The role is ideal for a collaborative professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with diverse stakeholders, and is passionate about enhancing teaching and learning through effective instructional design practices.

  

Compensation 

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $24.40. Compensation for this position does not include any fringe benefits such as health and wellness benefits.

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a closely related field.

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in instructional design, online course development, or a related field.

  • A Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience designing and developing online courses using a Learning Management System (preferably Canvas).

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.

  • Ability to organize, edit, and present content in a clear and engaging manner.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency with instructional design tools and technologies, including multimedia and interactive content development.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a higher education environment.

  • Familiarity with course quality assurance processes and standards.

  • Experience collaborating with media teams to develop video, graphics, and interactive learning elements.
