Job Description:

The opportunity:

Hitachi Energy is looking for an Instructional Designer responsible for the design, author, and develop our internal training programs, including but not limited to web-based learning, instructor-led training, or blended instruction solutions. 

Development will focus on our products' functional and technical aspects and will be developed using programs like Storyline 360, Rise 360, and Microsoft Office. 

Deliverables such as technical product videos and online learning modules will be integrated into a learning management system. 

As an Instructional Designer for the Enterprise Software R&D Unit, you will be a part of the respective local department and report to the R&D Team Manager. 

How you’ll make an impact:

  • To Proactively communicate task and project status to internal and external stakeholders. 

  • To participate in needs analysis to determine training needs within the organization and conduct self and peer review and perform QA of deliverables.

  • To work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify and capture learning content and create effective learning objectives. 

  • To design and develop training courses that engage learners and aligns with identified outcomes and also assessments and evaluation.

  • To apply tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods and create supporting media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.) .

  • You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Required BE/B. Tech/MTech/ME degree in instructional design/technology, or certification in educational technology or curriculum development with 6+years of experience.

  • Experience developing content for a technology company (software, electrical component) and proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology. 

  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts and excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models .

  • Practical knowledge of using international style guides for writing in English (Microsoft Manual of Style, Chicago Manual of Style, or the AP Stylebook), basic HTML Knowledge.

  • Solid knowledge of course development software (Storyline is likely to be used), visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other graphics tools). 

  • Strong understanding of instructional design models such as ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, or SAM and DDLC concept.

  • Required software proficiency in articulate storyline, articulate rise 360, MS Office (Word, Power-Point, Excel), madcap flare, MS Visio/Lucid Chart/Draw.io.

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
