The Opportunity 

The Rothwell Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (RCTLE) provides academic and instructional support for ERAU’s Worldwide Campus. The Instructional Consultant (Intern) is responsible for propelling the mission of the center and the university. This is accomplished through data mining and review, observation, and faculty development which includes course management and quality control activities that support faculty as they prepare to teach, when they are teaching and as they wrap-up teaching requirements. This can include reviewing courses to ensure adherence to contractual agreements and instructional best practices. as well as developing and offering learning experiences for faculty. Additionally, this can include engagement in special projects.

 

The Instructional Consultant (Intern) must be flexible and able to work collaboratively to best serve the needs of the ERAU-W faculty thus positively impacting student success. Other skills and abilities include:

  •  Effective communication both written and verbal
  •  Strong pedagogical knowledge and experience
  •  Experience designing, delivering, and evaluating professional learning offerings
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate using technology such as Teams, Zoom, email, etc.
  • Technical skills should include MS suite tools, Canvas, other tech skills a plus

 

Interns must be available daily during the traditional work week (Monday – Friday. Weekends are optional. At minimum 2 hours a day for regular schedule, one of which must be during regular business hours (8-5 Monday – Friday). .Specific schedule to be determined upon hire.

  

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:  

  • Master’s degree in education, instructional design, educational technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in a higher education or professional learning environment.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based teaching practices and pedagogy.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively support and guide faculty.

  • Experience designing, delivering, and evaluating professional development or instructional training programs.

  • Ability to collaborate with faculty, instructional support teams, and technical staff in a team-based environment.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems such as Canvas.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision.

  • Comfortable using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and email for communication and training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting faculty development or instructional improvement initiatives in higher education.

  • Experience conducting course reviews, faculty observations, or instructional quality assurance activities.

  • Familiarity with online learning environments and instructional technologies used in higher education.

  • Experience working in faculty support centers or teaching and learning centers.
