Brown Advisory is seeking a client-focused professional to join its Global Institutional team as an Institutional Client Relationship Specialist. This role combines operational service excellence with client relationship responsibility, serving as a primary contact for certain institutional separately managed account clients while operationally supporting additional client relationships. The role is primarily focused on delivering an exceptional operational client experience, while also assuming broader relationship and investment-related responsibilities for a defined set of clients.
The Specialist will work in a collaborative, dynamic, fast-paced, trust-based partnership with Relationship Managers, Sales Professionals, and Operational Professionals across our global offices to serve a broad range of client needs, including ownership of onboarding, client cashflow management, and delivery of client reporting requirements. For select client relationships, the Specialist will serve as a central point of accountability across both operational execution and the overall client experience.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as primary contact for a defined group of institutional clients, managing day-to-day relationship needs, from both an operational and investment perspective
Build and maintain strong client relationships across investment, operational, and administrative stakeholders
Facilitate client communications including investment performance updates, and ongoing servicing discussions in partnership with the investment team
Coordinate onboarding, account setup, and transitions in partnership with various operations team and client custodians
Partner closely with the trading desk to manage client cash flows, including subscriptions, redemptions, and rebalancing activity
Monitor account cash positions and proactively communicate funding requirements or excess cash situations
Track and communicate client trade requests, ensuring accurate and timely execution
Oversee production and delivery of client reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc requests
Respond to and resolve client inquiries, questionnaires, and operational issues in a timely manner
Maintain and reconcile client account data across internal systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Support Senior Relationship Managers on large complex relationships
Contribute to process improvements and cross-functional projects to enhance client experience
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred
3–5+ years of experience in institutional client service or relationship management
Experience interacting directly with institutional clients preferred
Strong understanding of investment products and client servicing models
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)
Ability to work in our Baltimore office

Salary: $70-100k. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long-term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
