Reporting to the Business Line Director, you will be responsible for leading a team of service and commissioning engineers in providing a first class installation and commissioning service to our customers and dealers.

The Installation & Commissioning Manager will be responsible for overseeing the installation and commissioning phases of the full portfolio of TWS projects, providing expert knowledge and support to the installation, project management and wider operational teams, monitoring progress and reporting on project progress.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the wider TWS team to develop and implement the installation & commissioning strategy for all regions, to ensure that all installations are effectively planned in line with internal operational and customer capacities to enable projects to be delivered in line with contractual obligations, customer schedule expectations, internal budgets and relevant quality standards.

The focus of the role is creating, improving, and maintaining industry best practices across the installation & commissioning phases of our projects, developing and mentoring our teams, and improving our practices to provide a service that exceeds our customers' schedules and quality standards

What you’ll do

  • Assess the current state of both the installation & commissioning phases of project delivery and the level of foundation that exists within the current structure to identify the gaps between current practice and best practice. Implement changes to current practice to close gaps towards best practice.
  • Manage and mentor the installation team to ensure a people-centric, positive, supportive, and empowering team culture. Further develop a pathway towards improvement and development of the team, including the creation of training and personal development pathways to develop the skills and experience within the team, including the relevant H&S training that is required to ensure all TM’s are compliant with regional legislative requirements, and they have the knowledge and ability to safely perform their duties. Provide advice and expertise to the team where required.
  • Ensure all team members are clear on their roles and responsibilities within the team, clearly detailing their H&S responsibilities to themselves and others working with or near them.
  • Ensure any sub-contractors used for site activities are assessed to determine they have adequate competence and training in place to undertake their assigned activities in a safe manner and consistent with TWS requirements and they represent TWS in line with Terex values.
  • Identify and implement the most appropriate data-gathering practices for monitoring, controlling, and reporting installation & commissioning performance, in conjunction with the other operational teams. Create a KPI dashboard that demonstrates performance and identify any risks of non-achievement arising in a timely and easily identified manner. Utilise these metrics to make informed recommendations to the senior leadership team to support them in making evidence-based decisions.
  • Support the pricing and project management teams in the estimation of installation & commissioning timelines and schedules, providing expertise to advise of any resource, site or customer-specific challenges or issues that may impact these estimates.
  • Together with the project management team, ensure a rigorous internal readiness and customer site readiness methodology is utilised before the mobilisation of teams to maximise efficiency and remove waste from our processes.
  • Drive schedule rigour across the installation & commissioning phase, ensuring that schedules are planned in line with realistic and demonstrable capacity levels and site-specific challenges, and properly maintained, to enable informed decisions and ensure the accuracy of schedule data being used by both internal and external customers.
  • Ensure that resources are managed, and schedules planned efficiently and within project budgets. Any issues or delays on site which could contribute to increases in cost should be mitigated and fed back to be captured in project forecasts when opportunities to mitigate have been exhausted without success.
  • Working alongside the project management function, ensure that relevant information is fed into internal stakeholder reviews to ensure that senior management are always aware of any project issues or roadblocks in time to be able to make decisions to try to mitigate any such issues.
  • Maintain current working knowledge of planning best practices.
