We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Inspection Manager I to join our team. In this role, you will oversee aviation manufacturing inspectors and material receiving inspectors, ensuring that all products and materials meet stringent regulatory and quality standards. Your leadership will be pivotal in producing high-quality, compliant deliverables, thereby enhancing overall operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

As an Inspection Manager I, you will schedule and oversee inspections, ensure compliance with standards, and maintain documentation. You will train and evaluate inspectors, conduct audits, and monitor performance. Additionally, you will lead problem-solving efforts, implement improvements, and manage regulatory compliance.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • B.A. (or equivalent degree) - a higher level degree may substitute for relevant experience
  • Typically, 6+ years of progressive aviation experience, which includes 0-2+ years of management experience.
  • Ability to understand technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
  • Proficiency with applicable inspection tools

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Coordination: Develop and manage inspection schedules and sufficient staffing, ensuring timely and efficient inspections.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain compliance with industry standards and company policies, overseeing accurate documentation and managing non-conformance processes.
  • Training and Development: Implement training programs, conduct performance evaluations, and ensure inspectors hold necessary certifications.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct regular audits, monitor key performance indicators, and prepare detailed reports for senior management.
  • Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement: Lead root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and collaborate with other departments to enhance processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed of regulatory updates, prepare for external audits, and manage risks associated with inspection processes.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Previous management or leadership experience; the ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with CMM inspections and software such as ROMER, FARO, PolyWorks Inspector by Innovmentric, and PC DMIS by Hexagon.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
  • Advanced experience and knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures
  • Comprehensive understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations
  • Experience with FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) requirements    
  • Prior experience with first article inspections and/or aircraft modifications                                           
  • Quality Engineering experience

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $85,768.30 - $117,931.40. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
