Insider Threat Senior Analyst

Who we are looking for

State Street seeks to recruit an Insider Threat Analyst responsible for a variety of functions within the insider threat program at State Street. This role will be focused on intelligence collaboration across internal teams and will also emphasize external intelligence engagements.   This position requires completion of a recognized Federal CI training program to have been completed.  This team will work with the core Global Cyber Security teams, Global Security, Enterprise Continuity Services, and infrastructure teams to analyze, remediate, and develop new controls related to insider threats. In addition, this role required creativity, quick reaction, interview experience, and technical expertise to protect the bank’s assets. What you will be responsible for

As an Insider Threat Analyst you will

  • Conduct comprehensive, all source research to assess the risk of potential threats leveraging data analytics
  • Analize User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA), SIEM tools and other alerts for anomalies
  • Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to prevent data breaches, intellectual property theft or sabotage
  • Ability to recognize patterns in data and conduct in depth analyst
  • Aggregate, analyze and evaluate available data to assess insider threat risk
  • Consult with investigative leads on cases that show indicators of potential CI risk
  • Conduct analysis of incidents and present findings to a variety of audiences, including senior decision makers
  • Develop evidence based reports for incorporation into investigative files
  • Provide analysis on investigations involving insiders and support the investigative process
  • Process and playbook development to formalize program efforts

 

 

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role

  • Graduate of a recognized Federal CI training program (e.g. FLETC, JCITA, or agency specific equivalents like an IC Career Analyst Program)
  • Minimum of 5 years working within an IC agency (e.g. CIA, NSA, NGA, DIA or FBI)
  • Knowledge of cyber security controls, data loss prevention and database query analysis
  • Background in cybersecurity (CISSP), forensic analysis and insider training
  • Strong understanding of Insider Threat principles  
  • Strong understanding of behavior analytics platforms
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of the investigative process, evidence collection, and report writing
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

 

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and significant experience in security, law enforcement, or intelligence analysis insider threat
  • 10+ years of experience with insider threat analysis and investigations and monitoring demonstrated through work, military, or education
  • 5+ years of experience with cyber threat detection platforms
  • 5+ years of experience using ticket tracking tools for change management, problem and incident management, and availability management, demonstrated through work, military, or education
  • Strong background in working with and for the intelligence communities

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $202,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
