Inside Sales Specialist
Summary:
This position is responsible for selling our products remotely using virtual communication methods like phone and email. This role involves prospecting for new clients, qualifying leads, demonstrating products and nurturing client relationships. The position implies to provide best in class / excellent customer service for external customers and business partners (distribution) by utilizing excellent, in-depth business knowledge; Products knowledge and Order to Cash process- Closely collaborating with ad hoc departments: SI OP; Logistics; Quality as examples – non exhaustive list.
Acting as the extended arm of the business (commercial), playing key role as profitability drive by providing proactive support to sales and customers in perspective of ensuring execution and meeting (exceeding) Customer's expectations/ satisfaction as well as serve as an internal Subject Matter Expert.
Sales Support Coordinator serving as the operational backbone of the commercial team.
Prepare quotations, contracts, and performance reports for a certain category of customers / (Definition is = the category which does not require Account Manager but big enough for not being transferred to Distributors). Update price lists and discount structures in coordination with the Sales Manager/ Support sales forecasting, KPI tracking, and monthly business reviews.
Responsibilities Include:
Order to Cash- 3 BU’s –All Business Segments assigned - Regional Scope
The Inside sales role manages the customer information for the TIER 1 & TIER 2 types of demands (product documentations, technical data sheets, MSDS, certificates …) As needed, this position drives the connection of customers with key business partners within the organization.
- Act as the front line business role (aside commercials) for all inquiries related to products, service and supply chain to ensure full satisfaction of customers on products , services and features, and upsell additional products or services to current customers
- Lead generation: identify and research new sales opportunities by collecting leads from web inquires, trade shows, seminars and make outbound calls or send emails to potential clients
- Lead nurturing: follow up until leads convert to opportunity or sales generated. Explain product benefits, create quotes, negotiate terms, close deals and handover to sales team. Provide feedback to product teams based on customer interactions and collaborate with colleagues to achieve sales goals.
- Follow up Leads that assigned to distributors to deep dive the result until leads finalized as closed won or lost
- Farming to sustain / grow sales at existing accounts, manage sales pipelines to realize sales revenue. Optimize service to enlarge market share by
- proactive communication and working with commercial/CS about the order prioritization; positively get involved in communication about report request from customer with different functions
- Analyze data from SAP/SFA reports to identify open issues and take action, and create reports on sales activities and data
- Act as the interface communication flow between Sales, Demand Planners, logistic services and all other support departments- Product Stewardship; Trade Compliance; Quality.
- Receives, enters, handles customers non-conformance / claims ensure proper feedback is provided.
- Build sustainable relationship of trust through open and pro-active communication.
Customer & Market Development
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities through proactive outreach, digital prospecting, and CRM analytics.
- Maintain and expand a database of active and potential customers, ensuring accuracy and completeness in Salesforce.
- Support external Account Managers by generating leads, developing opportunities, and coordinating follow-up actions.
- Prepare, issue, and follow up on quotations; close transactions within delegated authority.
- Maintain and provide an updated standard price list and ensure pricing alignment across the customer base.
Customer Relationship & Operational Excellence
- Manage the sample request process, ensuring timely follow-up and communication with customers and internal teams.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address issues, coordinating with Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Technical teams.
- Support accurate demand forecasting through insights from customer interactions and market trends.
- Act as a primary commercial contact for assigned customers, ensuring a consistent and professional experience.
Digital & Data-Driven Selling
- Use AI-enabled tools, dashboards, and CRM analytics to prioritize activities and identify growth opportunities
- Maintain accurate documentation of interactions, opportunities, and pipeline activities in Salesforce.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at automation, digital enablement, and sales efficiency
Responsible for Subject Matter Export Activities, projects and analysis includes:
- Act as power user for SFA, conduct Lead & Opportunity review with commercial team, provide visibility and share best features/ practices to accelerate utilization, conduct SFA enhancement per business request
- Coach Sales people on day-to-day troubleshooting & how to resolve process problems
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) as well as coach and provide back up support on the following process: consignment, export, samples, month end management and others SAP test and validate process as assigned.
- Serve as backup for other account specialists outside the normal backup schedule
- Responsible for after-hours phones on a rotational basis depending on the business need.
- Participate on functional and related projects
- Participate in both internal and external order management audits
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
- Minimum 3-4 year’s experience as an account specialist or Inside Sales, Customer Service, or Account Management (B2B industrial preferred); Experience in chemical industry ideal.
- Customer focused mindset with the ability to develop business relationships with internal / external customers and suppliers;
- Master in SAP (SD module) - Fluent English-Proficient in Microsoft word & basic proficiency in Excel.
- Significant customer relations experience in complex international and ever-changing environments;
- Ability to handle multiple requests and demands on time, prioritize work load depending on needs of customer and business for on-time completion of each request
- Display strong business acumen enabling to take initiative and ownership of difficult customer situations
- Inspires top performance in others by example of work ethic and job performance with proven ability to successfully coach others
- Keen sense of customer relations illustrated by effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills;
- Attentive to details; Ability to maintain composure under stress, a sense of urgency when performing tasks; excellent organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline.
- Strong commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to translate data into business action.
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred/ Which becomes SFA for Momentive ) and ERP (SAP).
- Excellent organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities and maintain structured records.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages (Chinese/Japanese) is an advantage.
