Inside Sales Representative

The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with exceptional communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. This individual should have experience working in an office environment with exposure to inside sales activities. The candidate must demonstrate strong relationship-building abilities through verbal, written, and virtual communication to be successful in this role. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for supporting service performance outreach, generating leads for the service sales team, selling additional services, and cultivating long-term customer relationships while supporting overall branch and company sales objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Develop target customers from existing service contracts.
  • Call on existing service customers to check on service performance levels, customer satisfaction, and ongoing needs.
  • Develop target customers from the existing service base and active service contracts.
  • Identify upsell opportunities and generate qualified leads for the service sales team, including new markets and expanded services.
  • Initiate proactive sales calls with existing customers to sell additional services and solutions offered by the company.
  • Scrub customer and service data to identify opportunities for growth and timely follow-up.
  • Coordinate with Service Sales Representatives and branch teams, when assistance is needed, to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction. 
  • Communicate with applicable service branch personnel to initiate additional services and secure required information, equipment, or approvals.
  • Process required paperwork related to sales activities, service add-ons, and customer requests.
  • Provide sales and administrative coordination to support inside sales and service growth initiatives.
  • Assist branch administration personnel with documentation related to additional services when needed.
  • Provide timely and accurate entries into operating and CRM systems. 
  • Ensure strict adherence to the Service Excellence programs and company standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service across all locations and accounts. 
  • Consult with various teams and management as necessary to ensure a positive experience and delivery of a quality product for the customer. 
  • Communicate regularly with customers to maintain and strengthen working relationships. 
  • Attend meetings and provide reporting and regular status updates to management. 
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to standardize and streamline sales and service-related activities.  
  • Support corporate initiatives and company profitability targets. 
  • Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with team members, service sales representatives, and branch personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Qualification:  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with effective analytical skills. 
  • Strong problem-solving abilities. 
  • Experience initiating contacts with customers and providing follow-up to ensure strong customer service. 
  • Experience working against deadlines and a good record of completing projects on time. 
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills allowing effective communication with customers, superintendents, field personnel, and management. 
  • Solid decision making and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong time management skills with great attention to detail. 
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and perform with a sense of urgency. 
  • Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently. 
  • Proven ability to appropriately negotiate.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
  • High school diploma or GED

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to utilize phones and email to communicate with others. 
  • Manual dexterity, to operate a computer system, copy/fax machine and write legibly. Requires typing and using a mouse. 
  • Ability to sit at a desk/computer station and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
