Sensata Industrial Business Unit (BU) is looking for an Inside Sales Representative who will be responsible for driving order intake and revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities through multi-channel outreach (phone, email, video calls, and other digital channels). The role focuses on building and maintaining long-term customer relationships, creating and progressing a healthy sales pipeline, and consistently achieving quarterly and annual targets with limited face-to-face meetings.
General Responsibilities
• Responsible for selling the company’s products, services and/or solutions
• Informs customers of company promotions and upgrades
• Qualifies leads, identifies decision makers, determines customer needs
• Explains product/service alternatives
• Recommends the most suitable products/services
• Identifies features and benefits, overcomes customer objections, and closes sales
• May respond to inquiries and resolve problems
• Prepares required sales documentation
Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively engage new and existing customers through phone, email, video calls, and social media (e.g., LinkedIn) to generate interest, create opportunities, and maintain account coverage.
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads by understanding customer needs, technical applications, decision criteria, budget, and timeline; route and/or escalate complex opportunities to Field Sales or technical teams as appropriate.
- Present Sensata solutions clearly and persuasively by translating features into customer value (performance, reliability, total cost of ownership), and by aligning recommendations to the customer’s use case.
- Handle objections professionally and negotiate pricing within guidelines
- Upsell or cross-sell relevant products and accessories
- Stay informed about product offerings, competitors, and market trends
- Backoffice support to the Fields Sales team, at need
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales, customer service, or a customer-facing role
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English is a must
- Ability to confidently engage customers by phone, email, and virtual meetings
- Goal driven mindset with the ability to meet or exceed sales targets
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle objections and rejection professionally
- Basic proficiency with CRM systems and sales tools (i.e Salesforce.com)
- Comfortable working in a metrics driven environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B sales and/or Prospecting
- Familiarity with sales methodologies
- Experience managing pipelines and forecasts
- Industry-specific knowledge is a plus
- Availability to travel on request.
