Innovation Subject Matter Expert

 OES Equipment, a part of the DPR family of companies, is a fast-paced construction supply and equipment rental company in the construction industry, is seeking an Innovation Subject Matter Expert. This role is responsible for delivering technology solutions per customer requirements. Innovation Subject Matter Experts apply proven communication, organization, and problem-solving skills to help identify, scope and deploy technology solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gather new and innovative ideas from across the industry and the company.
  • Work with customers to understand needs, define solution requirements and identify and deliver solutions.
  • Define initial problem statements and elucidate the scope of work for the idea(s) that will solve the problem(s).
  • Facilitate and work with stakeholders, end-users, subject matter experts, and business analysts to clarify high-level project requirements and goals.
  • Test and prove out new concepts and solutions, including vendor engagement, process development and documentation, and metrics for success criteria and business drivers (operational and customer feedback).
  • Evaluate technology vendors for fit, scalability, support, and longevity.
  • When appropriate, ensure new solutions integrate with other solutions and best practices.
  • As needed, develop ancillary solutions for existing platforms and scale per DPR corporate requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of solutions after they have been implemented in order to improve the efficacy of future deployments.
  • Document, share, and present lessons learned from testing, proofs of concept, and pilots of new ideas and technologies.
  • Work with vendors to establish standard product packages for DPR and other customers.
  • Work with vendors and OES vendor onboarding team to establish favorable commercial terms, competitive pricing, service level agreements (SLAs), and other business terms.
  • Work with marketing resources to develop sales and educational material for technology products.
  • Assist with upscaling of new solutions for OES turn-key services, e.g. Modular and Logistics, including design support as needed.
  • Engage with DPR Family of Companies to identify new opportunities for business growth.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the technology products intake, evaluation and scaling processes.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the order intake and fulfilment process(es) for technology solutions.

Education and Experience

  • Advanced understanding of rapid prototyping for technology solutions including but not limited to low-code/no-code software development, 3D printing, small electronics, UI/UX mockups, etc.
  • Knowledge of design, engineering, and construction processes, including the ability to read and understand construction documents, shop drawings and plans, is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time, at various construction sites; plan and execute multiple projects daily.
  • Position requires lifting and carrying moderately heavy equipment (25lbs+), climbing ladders and occasionally entering crawl spaces and enclosed ceilings.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
