Relentlessly curious futurist wanted
Are you ready to shape the future of FCC? As an Innovation Specialist, you’ll connect the dots between the present and our desired future state – then design experiments to explore options that could take us there.

You’ll scan trends, spot patterns across industries and provide insights to today’s challenges. Working with a dynamic, cross-functional team of strategists, designers, technologists and industry experts, you’ll turn bold ideas into real experiences, prototyping new products, services and possibilities for how FCC supports the Canadian agriculture and food industry.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with the Innovation Hub team to create and evolve our innovation practice, championing Design Thinking and experimentation as core ways of working
  • Scan industry trends and emerging technologies to identify areas for growth and potential disruption in agriculture and finance
  • Transform research and partner data into actionable intelligence that informs decisions and sparks new ideas
  • Communicate impact by sharing findings and recommendations across diverse audiences – from technical teams to senior leadership – in clear, compelling ways
  • Define which problems to explore using Human-Centred Design and co-creation
  • Build and nurture relationships with thought leaders, vendors and external partners to strengthen FCC’s innovation ecosystem
  • Design, plan, lead and complete end-to-end experiments that validate assumptions and accelerate learning
  • Prioritize exploration of emerging trends, technologies and industry topics to keep FCC future-ready and ahead of the curve

What we’re looking for:

  • Visionary leader who instinctively builds on the ideas of others and inspires collaboration across teams
  • Connector and listener who values diverse perspectives and synthesizes them into actionable strategies that drive meaningful outcomes
  • Confident facilitator who feels at ease guiding workshops and discussions in a variety of settings and creates an environment where ideas flourish
  • Strategic thinker who can link evidence and insights to tangible opportunities for the agriculture and finance industries, ensuring decisions are grounded in data and foresight
  • Compelling storyteller who frames complex concepts in ways that engage, influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels
  • Curious innovator who is creative, adaptable and collaborative, thriving in ambiguity and rapidly changing environments while driving forward-thinking solutions

What you’ll need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, design, business, or engineering and at least eight years of experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Human-Centred Design knowledge and practical knowledge of Design Thinking principles and methods

The following would be assets:

  • Familiarity with the Microsoft AI platform and ability to self-serve development tasks

  • Experience with prototyping

  • Understanding of the agriculture or finance industry

  • Bilingualism (French and English)
