Job Description: Possibility Unpacked
What you’ll do:
Check color folders to ensure each folder has an approved color rollout, ink formula, and ink type that completely match order instructions. Contact the Crew Leader for corrections if incomplete, prior to going to press.
Use the dispensing system to draw inks (Color Converting in Plant 2) and K Proofer as required to blend ink.
Operate the Spectro Photometer color matching system to achieve required DEcmc readings.
Consult with Siegwerk regarding color toning so ink formulations and costs can be adjusted and computer data files updated to ensure job and order repeatability.
Complete the initial approval for color match at press and present the approved match to the Crew Leader for final approval.
Scan approved rollouts into the color check computer system after color is verified at press and production begins.
Work with the Press Operator on color during press set-up to bring the press online and up to production speed as quickly as possible.
Check drums of straight colors on the rack periodically and refill as needed.
Track usage of return ink.
Haul away empty ink buckets and keep the ink room and equipment clean.
Assist as required during ink, solvent, and parts deliveries and pick-ups.
Operate the EX fork truck to unload and move ink and solvent drums and totes.
Maintain a clean, safe work area and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and other prerequisite food safety programs.
Assist in the training of new or inexperienced Ink Blenders.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader or Management.

Preferred qualifications:
Ability to learn and understand color theory
Competence in operating Novaflow software
Strong computer skills
Ability to work effectively and professionally with coworkers in a team environment
Solid math skills
Ability to read, understand, and stay current with all department work instructions and procedures
Strong organizational skills
Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required
Knowledge and understanding of computers and software programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others in a team environment
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50-60 lbs.
Willing and able to stand and walk for an 8/12 hour shift
Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting
Frequent use of wrist and hands
Frequent stepping up and down from platforms
Occasionally lifts up to 35 lbs. – minimally lifts up to 50 lbs.
Occasionally reaches over 15” away from body
