Responsibilities:
1. Perform/audit first/last article checks according to policy.
2. Responsible for performing visual quality checks according to the appropriate procedures within the department.
3. Set up assigned molds, machines and auxiliary equipment (chiller, tower, grinders, dryers, robots, mold heaters, etc.) including changing tools, verifying materials, performing level one preventative mold maintenance, and machine safety checks.
4. Monitor assigned work cell observing overall process and quality of molded parts. Interpret the root causes of quality issues. Make required adjustments to the machine and controls to maintain proper quality and cycle efficiency.
5. Document all machine adjustments on process sheet. Maintain a valid process.
6. Perform minor repairs to molds, machines, and all auxiliary equipment.
7. Complete all required paperwork such as line clearance, mold history, process run sheet, and safety check sheet. Responsible for documentation of the process audits and corrective actions on the Molding Inspection Record. Prepare all paperwork for upcoming changes.
8. Familiarize Machine Operators with the equipment.
9. Communicate with Lead set-up, coach, Sr. process tech, tool room, maintenance, material techs, line shift supervisors and operators to ensure efficient operation.
10. Assist tooling coordinators with level 3 preventative maintenance, pin changes, mold repairs (perform L3, P/C, or mold repairs as necessary without tooling coordinator).
11. Attend scheduled Set-Up training meetings.
12. Comply with all departmental attendance and performance policies.
13. Responsible for the housekeeping of the injection molding machines and surrounding areas as defined in the departmental procedures.
14. Set up, operate, and maintain materials/machines/molds and auxiliary equipment accordingly. Transport, load or unload materials/supplies/equipment/molds by operating an overhead crane, motorized cart, or Stanley Stack system as needed.
15. Participate in safety, emergency response, and 5S teams and monthly Safety Meetings and other teams and meetings as required.
16. Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including Hazardous Waste regulations. PPE assigned with warehouse, forklift scissor, and production activities required.
17. Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
18. Works well individually and in a team setting. Must be self driven.
19. Other duties as assigned.
20. Must certify on Mold Cart.

While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to episodes of walking, kneeling, balancing, crouching, climbing, pushing/pulling, repetitive grasping, hearing, twisting, frequent use of hand to finger, handle, feel, pick, or type which can include repetitive motion of the wrists, hands or fingers.
The incumbent may occasionally be required to lift to 20 lbs., frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs., occasionally pulling/pushing up to 30 lbs., frequently pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.
The position will almost always have exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment, and potential temperature fluctuations.
The incumbent will be exposed to noise levels in the work environment moderate to loud.
