Reporting directly to the EHS Manager, you as an EHS Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards at the Matehuala facility.

You will focus on risk assessment, prevention strategies, and continuous improvement of EHS systems, ensuring a safe environment for employees, visitors, and contractors. Additionally, you will support compliance with ISO standards and regulatory frameworks while taking immediate action to stop any unsafe operations that may compromise safety, legal compliance, or ethical standards.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive a proactive safety culture and ensure the effective implementation of EHS initiatives across the organization.

About the Job:

  • Identify and assess health, safety, and environmental risks within the facility.

  • Develop and implement mitigation actions and ensure effectiveness of controls.

  • Support and participate in EHS audits and compliance activities.

  • Develop, implement, and update EHS procedures and work instructions.

  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (STPS, SEMARNAT, etc.)

  • Maintain and support ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 systems.

  • Deliver EHS training programs and awareness initiatives.

  • Investigate incidents and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Monitor and evaluate safety performance and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Stop unsafe operations, equipment, or activities when risks are identified.

  • Maintain preventive evaluations of equipment and facilities.

  • Identify unsafe practices and implement corrective/preventive actions.

  • Support development and enforcement of EHS policies and internal regulations.

  • Location: Matehuala, San Luis Potosí.

  • About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in EHS or similar roles.

  • Strong knowledge of EHS legal and regulatory frameworks.

  • Certifications in environmental, health, and safety regulations preferred.

  • Experience delivering training and safety programs.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.

  • Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and ethical standards.
