Role Overview
ING is building the next generation of financial infrastructure. As Digital Asset Lead, you will be responsible for defining and executing ING’s strategy across digital assets, including blockchain-based payments, tokenized assets, stablecoins, custody, and related client solutions. You will bridge strategy, regulation, technology, and business to turn digital assets from experimentation into scalable, compliant products for corporate and institutional clients.
This role sits at the intersection of banking, technology, and regulation and requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and execution capability. You will participate in cross-functional initiatives to explore new business models, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver innovative solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Define ING’s digital asset strategy aligned with wholesale banking, payments, and capital markets priorities.
- Identify high-impact use cases (e.g. tokenized deposits, stablecoin payments, on-chain settlement, collateral mobility).
- Build clear business cases with ROI, risk assessment, and regulatory considerations.
- Translate market trends into actionable product roadmaps.
- Work closely with Legal, Compliance, and Risk to ensure adherence to EU and global regulations (e.g. MiCA, AML, travel rule).
- Partner with Relationship Managers and Product teams to develop client-facing offerings.
- Support strategic client discussions and proof-of-concept initiatives.
- Position ING as a trusted partner for digital asset adoption.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in digital assets, ideally experience with Digital Asset Custodians or Exchanges
- Strong understanding of financial capital markets markets, regulatory requirements, and risk management.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate complex technology concepts into business opportunities.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Technology, or related field.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with tokenization, stablecoins, and digital asset custody.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as MiCA
- Strong network in the blockchain and fintech ecosystem.
