About the job
As an Infrastructure Manager, you will ensure reliable, secure network operations across all Alfa Laval U.S. sites while collaborating closely with global teams in Lund and Pune. You will support daily network performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain infrastructure including switches, firewalls, wireless systems, VoIP, and VPN. The role includes participation in network upgrades and projects, vendor management, and maintaining accurate documentation. You will also support OT network environments by monitoring industrial networks, resolving connectivity issues, and ensuring secure integration with enterprise systems.

This is a hands‑on role critical to sustaining and developing Alfa Laval’s digital foundation.

This is a hybrid opportunity based in Richmond, VA.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Provide daily operational support for all U.S. network environments, ensuring high availability, reliable performance, and timely resolution of issues involving switches, firewalls, wireless systems, VoIP, and VPN.

  • Implement, upgrade, and maintain network hardware and software while monitoring performance and taking proactive measures to avoid disruptions, including managing ISP and vendor relationships.

  • Analyze network traffic through packet capture and performance reviews to identify root causes, resolve issues, and continuously improve service quality, while maintaining accurate documentation of configurations, infrastructure, and lifecycle changes.

  • Strengthen network security by refining firewall rules, applying security protocols, conducting vulnerability assessments, and supporting incident response efforts.

  • Contribute to or lead U.S.-based network projects, including infrastructure upgrades, rollouts, and improvement initiatives, while collaborating with global teams on cross‑regional efforts.

  • Support OT network environments by monitoring industrial networks, troubleshooting connectivity challenges, ensuring secure integration between control systems and enterprise networks, and partnering with operations, automation, and IT teams to maintain high‑availability industrial systems.

What you know:

You are a proactive, solutions‑oriented network professional who thrives in a hands‑on and collaborative environment, possess a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and have:

  • Experience with network topology design, hardware configuration, and lifecycle management

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including packet capture, traffic analysis, and root‑cause identification

  • Proficiency in firewall administration and rule optimization

  • Experience supporting VPN, VoIP, and remote connectivity solutions

  • Ability to maintain clear, detailed, and accurate network documentation

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to balance operational responsibilities and project participation

  • Professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or CCNP (preferred but not required)

These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. The base salary for this role is typically $95,000 - $125,000 annually.
