HIH – Infrastructure Engineering Advisor
Position Overview
This role is responsible for designing, administering, deploying, and maintaining enterprise-grade observability solutions for a Fortune 15 organization. The position focuses on ensuring end-to-end visibility across complex infrastructure and applications, enabling proactive monitoring, performance optimization, and rapid incident resolution. The ideal candidate will leverage modern observability tools and practices to deliver scalable, resilient solutions that support business-critical systems, enhance operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement in reliability and availability. Additionally, maintaining standard SOP documentation and workflows for the support teams.
Responsibilities
Provide Tier 2 monitoring and application support, including handling service requests, incident response, engineering escalations, ticket queue management, and off-hours change execution. Perform advanced application administration, deployment, and troubleshooting, as well as observability development and technical support for Monitoring & Observability platforms. Support monitoring products and solutions throughout their lifecycle, including implementation, migrations, documentation, and decommissioning. Conduct periodic reviews of support processes and standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance. Perform post-SIR and IRM application checkouts and validations to confirm system integrity. Optimize and automate solutions to improve performance, enhance availability, and reduce operational costs. Provide escalation support to engineering, operations, and other technical teams.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
3-5 years of application production support.
3-5 years of experience with Service Assurance, Enterprise Monitoring and Observability technologies, including, but not limited to: SevOne, Dynatrace, Assure1, ThousandEyes, Riverbed AppResponse, Aternity, or Splunk.
3-5 years of user experience with ITSM systems such as ServiceNow.
3-5 years of system administration experience in Linux, and/or Windows.
Demonstrated experience in developing automation solutions using Ansible, Python, and/or Powershell.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and complete tickets within required SLAs.
Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions.
