The Boeing CompanyBoeing Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S) Engineering is looking for an Information Technology Senior Manager to lead our Mechanical & Structural Engineering (MSE), and Flight Engineering & Propulsion (FEP) product teams in either Everett, WA; El Segundo, CA; North Charleston, SC; Seal Beach, CA; or Hazelwood, MO.
At Boeing Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S) Engineering, we deliver digital solutions that enable our engineers to design, analyze, manufacture, and sustain Boeing’s products worldwide.
This leader will also serve as the main Information Technology (IT) partner to the corresponding engineering functions and be responsible for our joint digital strategy and roadmaps. Strong candidates will have Engineering domain knowledge in MSE and FEP, experience with software development, demonstrated ability to lead a global team and partner effectively with engineering, and a vision on how to modernize our engineering value stream.
Position Responsibilities:
Oversee the MSE and FEP products, which include both IT-managed and Engineering-managed software; manage performance to plan, financial performance, risk, and strategy
Lead a global team who serves a global user base, championing the Boeing Values, and developing employees
Partner with suppliers (e.g. commercial software vendors or cloud service providers) to develop and deliver competitive solutions to our engineering teams
Serve as the main IT partner to Mechanical & Structural Engineering, Flight Engineering, and Propulsion Engineering
Represent IDT&S Engineering on the Enterprise Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Council and the Enterprise High Performance Computing (HPC) Council to support both operational needs and modernization strategy
Develop future vision for the IT-Engineering partnership with MSE and FEP, and how we can deliver transformational improvements to the engineering value stream
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Information Systems or a closely related field
5+ years of experience in a role that required domain knowledge in Mechanical, Structural, Flight, and/or Propulsion Engineering
5+ years of experience working with digital engineering tools and software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DevSecOps)
5+ years of experience in a leadership role leading various teams, initiatives, or projects to meet business objectives and influence change
3+ years of experience managing budget for a technical team or program
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Master’s Degree or higher
Experience in a role that required strong relationships with Mechanical, Structural, Flight, and Propulsion Engineering
Experience with engineering processes and regulatory requirements in Mechanical, Structural, Flight, and/or Propulsion Engineering (e.g. CFR 25, Books 1-5)
Experience delivering digital solutions with IDT&S and Engineering functions
Experience leading global teams
Experience with Product Management
Experience in software development, with an understanding of modern development practices, programming languages, and tools
Experience with commercial engineering software products and industry trends
Experience partnering with commercial software vendors
Experience establishing and implementing a strategic vision
Experience with modeling and simulation computing environments
