INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST

Salary Range: $102415 - $158322 Per Year

Job Summary: This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible for developing, evaluating, maintaining, and/or operating systems, policies, devices, procedures, and methods used for safeguarding information, property, personnel, operations, and material.
  • You will assist and support in developing and implementing INFOSEC policies and guidelines to ensure the Security Program is effective, efficient and cost effectively complies with higher level authority.
  • You will take action on reports of possible compromise of classified information and security violations.
  • You will Initiate preliminary inquiry actions concerning the possible compromise of classified information.
  • You will review reports of preliminary inquiry for sufficiency and forward reports involving classified information and actual compromises to Command Security Manager.
  • You will monitor damage assessments of compromised information for possible declassification or downgrading.
  • You will assist preliminary inquiry officers during their investigations and monitor the progress of investigations to ensure that they are completed in a timely manner.
  • You will be responsible for the Enterprise Privacy Act program and will serve as principal point of contact on Privacy Act matters.
  • You will participate in security assist visits and/or inspections to ensure SSP and subordinate organizations are in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • You will oversee and assist with developing information security training for the command’s Branch Security Officers (BSOs).

Qualifications: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, developing, implementing, and/or evaluating information security programs to meet mission requirements.
