We are a Firm where people truly believe in what they do and strive to achieve the highest standards of performance and success.
This position is based in the Firm's global operations center in Tampa, FL.
General Description:
We are seeking an Information Governance Solutions Manager to join our team. The Information Governance (IG) Solutions Manager is responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of firm wide IG system and solution capabilities across our ecosystems. This role translates regulatory, client, and attorney requirements into scalable product features; orchestrates complex data and platform migrations; and drives adoption by coordinating with cross functional change management, UAT, training and support teams. The ideal candidate brings deep experience with law firm platforms (e.g., DMS, CRM, time/finance, collaboration) and a track record of leading multi system transitions while safeguarding confidentiality, defensible disposition, and operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Own the IG product vision, roadmap and system implementation; align features to attorney workflows, risk controls, and firm objectives.
- Define measurable outcomes for data lifecycle (creation, classification, retention, disposition) and matter‑centricity across platforms.
- Lead cross‑functional discovery and requirements—partnering with Legal Ops, Risk/Compliance, KM, IT, Practice Groups and other stakeholders, translating these into acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate vendor roadmaps and assess system capabilities to mitigate transition risk and ensure sustainable integrations.
Platform Ownership (Law‑Firm Ecosystem)
- Serve as product owner for IG capabilities spanning DMS and collaboration tools, including new and emerging technologies with strong influence on system selection and implementation.
- Govern integrations, security models, metadata standards, and Client‑Matter schemas to ensure useability and compliance.
- Establish product KPIs and dashboards for adoption, data quality, risk exceptions, and support responsiveness.
Delivery, Migrations & Change Management
- Plan and lead IG system migrations and implementations, with strong focus on streamlining workflows.
- Orchestrate cutovers and “run sheets,” resource allocation, vendor coordination, and contingency planning for mission‑critical transitions.
- Drive IG platform adoption: lead UAT, QC, training, and communications; publish knowledge‑base content and rollout playbooks.
Information Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Translate regulatory and client obligations into product controls (classification, ethical walls, legal hold, retention/disposition, auditing).
- Partner with Risk/Compliance to codify policy‑to‑technology mappings and monitor control effectiveness across systems.
- Collaborate with Legal teams to ensure appropriate levels of risk mitigation and oversight of firm and industry best-practices.
- Work with Retention & Disposition to ensure defensible disposition and support for privacy requests through standardized metadata and automation.
- Monitor system integrity and performance; coordinate rapid resolution with vendors and internal engineers for high‑priority issues.
Data Architecture & Operations
- Work with Data Governance to address data mapping and restructuring from unstructured sources into Client‑Matter formats to optimize search, analytics, and compliance.
- Implement automation for imports/workflows; standardize procedures to improve administrative effectiveness.
- Expected to maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and full attention to and engagement in work activities on behalf of the firm during business hours unless otherwise approved or required by applicable law.
- Special projects and duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Proven leadership of complex platform migrations and cloud transitions (e.g., DMS to cloud; CRM to Azure).
- Hands‑on experience managing or supporting the firm platforms listed above (DMS, Records, collaboration).
- Mastery of stakeholder management, vendor coordination, and communication across attorney, business, and IT groups.
- Expertise in UAT/QC, requirements documentation, release management, and user training/support.
- Strong understanding of Client‑Matter schema, matter‑centricity, metadata governance, and legal‑hold/retention practices.
- Focus on continuous learning, including attendance at industry events, educational achievements and certifications as appropriate.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite, or Microsoft 365.
Required Qualifications & Education:
- 7–10+ years in product management, IG, or enterprise applications within a large law firm or professional services environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or work equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications & Education:
