Major Duties:

  • You will perform industrial hygiene inspections, surveys and evaluations.
  • You will prepare workplace monitoring plans and track their completion.
  • You will recommend engineering controls to correct deficiencies where feasible.
  • You will provide consultation and advice to activities on occupational health problems and concerns.
  • You will assess work practices to identify the population at risk and to detect violations of published health standards.

Qualifications: GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying industrial hygiene concepts, principles, and practices carrying out all industrial hygiene programs Investigating health problems to determine probable cause and recommend measures to minimize health hazards Devising control measures, including ventilation, shielding, material substitution, change in work procedures, isolation, education and personal protective devices Planning and carrying out industrial hygiene inspections and surveys GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying industrial hygiene concepts, principles, and practices carrying out all industrial hygiene programs Analyzing and evaluating occupational health hazards to include those for which the nature and extent of hazards is not completely understood Assisting in devising control measures for ventilation, shielding, material, substitution, and change in work procedures Evaluating proposed processes or materials to recommend measures to minimize health hazards.
