Major Duties:

  • You will perform technical and administrative duties of an Occupational Health Technician.
  • You will support the industrial hygiene program.
  • You will conduct industrial hygiene monitoring surveys at various commands and activities to assess work practices and environmental conditions for hazards to the safety and health of workers, and to detect violations of published health hazards.
  • You will perform sampling of potential health hazardous exposures to chemical, physical, and biological stressors in a variety of workplaces.
  • You will review files for previously collected data, plan/manage sample collection in accordance with assigned monitoring programs, and coordinate monitoring efforts with serviced command personnel.
  • You will enter and maintain current DOEHRS records on all assigned personal sampling equipment.
  • You will record data, prepare and send samples to the appropriate laboratory for analysis.

Qualifications: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience and practical knowledge of industrial hygiene concepts, principles and practices applicable to the design and performance of industrial hygiene surveys and exposure monitoring. Experience utilizing Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System (DOEHRS-IH). Experience performing sampling of potential health hazardous exposures to chemical, physical, and biological stressors in a variety of workplaces.
