INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICIAN

Salary Range: $45409 - $65599 Per Year

Major Duties:

  • You will perform sampling of potential hazardous exposures to chemicals, physical, and biological stressors in a variety of workplaces.
  • You will review files for previously collected data, plans/manages sample collection in accordance with assigned monitoring programs, and coordinate monitoring efforts with serviced command personnel.
  • You will determine what short- and long-term samples have to be taken on subsequent days as necessary.
  • You will provide meticulous documentation of time course of events and workplace parameters which characterize the measured exposure.
  • You will measure airflow rates, patterns, and pressure differentials to assist the Industrial Hygienist in evaluating the effectiveness of exposure control measures.

Qualifications: For GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying practical skills of industrial hygiene concepts. Experience applying advanced knowledge of principal and practices. Experience applying skills applicable to the design and performance of industrial hygiene surveys. Experience applying advanced knowledge of industrial hygiene exposure monitoring. For GS-06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying practical knowledge of industrial hygiene concepts. Experience applying practical knowledge of principal and practices. Experience applying knowledge applicable to the design and performance of industrial hygiene surveys. Experience applying knowledge of industrial hygiene exposure monitoring.
