About The Opportunity

The Industrial Engineering Intern supports operational excellence by assisting with process analysis, data driven problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role works closely with cross functional teams to evaluate workflows, analyze performance metrics, and help design solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and productivity. The intern gains hands on experience applying industrial engineering principles in a real-world environment while contributing to meaningful business outcomes.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position.  The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Conduct time studies, workflow analyses, and capacity assessments to support operational improvements.

  • Assist in mapping and analyzing current processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions.

  • Collect, organize, and interpret production, labor, or logistics data to support decision‑making.

  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations.

  • ·Support ongoing projects related to automation, digitalization, or productivity optimization.

 Education & Experience

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field (Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, etc.).

  •  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

  • Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for layout design.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate findings clearly.

  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.

 

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Primarily works in an office environment with frequent time spent in production and/or warehouse setting

  • Occasional travel required

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
