We are seeking an Industrial Controls Technician based in our Ranson Factory.   The position is scheduled for Monday- Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm. 

Pay: $42 - $57/hr

Your future team:

The Industrial Controls Technician is responsible for providing PLC, electrical, and controls support for all plant equipment and facilities within budgeted costs. This role focuses on maintaining and improving production equipment to support safe, reliable operation, high product quality, and target production rates

What you bring:

  • 2-year degree in Electronics, Electrical or equivalent certification required.
  • 5 years’ practical experience in continuous flow manufacturing or industrial environment and with automated equipment required.
  • Proficient knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)/Automation, specifically Siemens and Endress+Hauser instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of ABB/Danfoss VFD drives, Lenze servo drives, motor control circuits, and industrial instrumentation.
  • Proficiency with standard electrical instruments and Microsoft Office for documentation and communication.
  • Knowledge of current Arc Flash regulatory requirements.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work safely and collaboratively in a team environment.

What you will be doing:

  •  Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve PLC-based control systems; write and modify PLC programs and update simple HMI screens.
  • Install, program, and troubleshoot VFDs, servo drives, motor controls, and related electrical systems.
  • Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation including flow, level, temperature, and pressure devices.
  • Maintain equipment to achieve high efficiency and reliability while minimizing environmental impact.
  • Safely perform work around mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and stored-energy systems, strictly following LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space, and Arc Flash requirements.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Use electrical test equipment (voltmeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, calibration devices, etc.) to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Support root-cause and structured failure analysis (e.g., 5 Why, Fishbone) to reduce downtime and improve performance.
  • Document work in logbooks and CMMS/MMS, including daily activities, changes to equipment, and preventive maintenance checks.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced maintenance staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
