Under the direction of the Individual Giving Manager, Curators’ Circle, this position provides administrative support for Curators’ Circle, an upper-level annual giving program with yearly goal to raise $1.4 million in unrestricted support for SFMOMA’s general operations. Working in close collaboration with colleagues on the Major and Annual Giving team and throughout the Philanthropy department and museum, the Associate is a vital contributor to the program’s goal to maintain positive donor relationships and deliver best-in-field stewardship. The Associate performs administrative functions including gift tracking, renewal management, event support, volunteer leadership committee support, and benefit fulfillment for the museum’s most generous donors.
The Individual Giving Associate, Curators’ Circle works closely with colleagues on the CRM Enterprise Services, Donor Events, Membership, Design, Email Marketing, Editorial, Visitor Experience, and Curatorial teams, as well as externally with trustees, committee members, volunteers, members, interns, and external vendors. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, project management skills, ability to work under numerous overlapping deadlines, and a desire to create and maintain orderly systems are key qualities for this position.
Within the first 30 days, the Associate will have gained familiarity with SFMOMA’s systems, workflows, and donor programs while capably supporting the core administrative and database management tasks associated with the role.
Within the first 90 days, the Associate is able to work with increasing independence, demonstrating reliable attention to detail when managing regular renewals, donor communications, and supporting donor events.
By the end of one year, the Associate should be a trusted, self-sufficient member of the Philanthropy team who consistently delivers quality work, meets deadlines, strengthens donor relationships, and contributes meaningfully to the strategic planning of the Curators’ Circle program.
