Job Description:

We are looking for Indirect Tax Manager to join our team!

The HPE Transaction Tax Team is a global function that supports all areas of the HPE Organization. The team is responsible for the implementation of VAT policy, business support, oversight of VAT compliance, and the relationship with Tax Authorities.

Key responsibilities include the provision of VAT advisory services and training, ensuring compliance with legal, tax, and internal requirements, and supporting HPE business units in the execution of their go to market strategies.

You will be contributing to global initiatives, managing tax risk while balancing commercial objectives, supporting audit and compliance activities. In addition to designated country responsibilities, the position provides the opportunity to act as a Subject Matter Expert in support of the wider HPE Organization

Your day-to-day activities will focus on the following aspects:-

  • Responsible for Poland and Switzerland, with future scope to cover additional countries.
  • Lead and contribute to solution and strategy development at a global or business-wide level, identifying areas for improvement such as cash flow management and P&L cost mitigation.
  • Serve as a key member of the HPE Tax group, actively identifying, analyzing, and implementing optimal solutions for the company.
  • Identify and minimize VAT associated with business operations, providing guidance to reduce unnecessary tax cost.
  • Maintain regular communication with senior business leaders, partnering with internal clients daily.
  • Address and mitigate VAT concerns related to mergers, acquisitions, formations, and reorganizations.
  • Collaborate closely with other stakeholder teams within HPE Finance and partner with Tax Operations.
  • Stay abreast of VAT legislation, practices, and developments.
  • Lead complex tax projects requiring advanced expertise.
  • Manage effective relationships with Tax Authorities and respond to their enquiries.
  • Manage relationships with external advisers.

Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum five years of VAT experience

  • Bachelor or Master degree in business, economics, accounting or law
  • Proficiency in both English and Polish
  • Prior VAT/tax experience within a multinational corporation, accounting firm, or equivalent setting

Skills Required:

  • Essential experience with Polish VAT regulations.
  • Proven ability to operate independently while managing complex projects.
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with strong commercial insight.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Skilled at explaining intricate tax matters to non-tax professionals.

Willingness to travel where required (travel < 10%)
