Indirect Tax Manager

ISS is seeking an Indirect Tax Manager to join our Finance Team. Based in Rockville, Maryland, this person will report directly to the Tax Manager US & North America and work as a member of the ISS STOXX Tax Team. They will be responsible for all aspects of indirect tax requirements for ISS STOXX’s North America legal entities. Previous tax and accounting experience, attention to detail, strong analytical skills and solid communication skills will be critical to this individual’s success. The future and potential of the role will be based on the direction desired.

What You’ll Do

  • Own monthly/quarterly/annual filings for sales & use tax, GST, gross receipts, franchise, business license, and property taxes

  • Maintain the US/Canada indirect tax calendar and prepare related SAP journal entries

  • Lead responses to tax notices and manage indirect tax audits

  • Monitor indirect tax law changes and implement process and system updates

  • Advise on taxability, contracts, transactions, and business operations

  • Manage Vertex for sales tax—including setups, rate updates, and return processing

  • Support income tax payments and complete tax account reconciliations

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–8 years of state & local indirect tax experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field

  • Experience with SAP and Vertex (preferred)

  • Advanced Excel and strong Microsoft 365 skills

  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment

Location

  • Rockville, MD: Located in the vibrant King Farm community, convenient access to transit (1 mile from Shady Grove Red Line), dining, green spaces with free parking, and access to an onsite gym.

Base salary: The Rockville, MD expected base pay range is $100,000- $115,000 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and level of education.

The role is bonus or sales incentive eligible.
