Work Arrangement: On Site : This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Defense Production Facility in Concord North Carolina on a full-time basis (shift is four 10's, Monday - Thursday).

GM Defense is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic individual looking for an opportunity that will allow them to showcase their talents and have an impact in a strategic growth area.

The Role:

In this position you will be the single point of contact for all indirect material and as-required material needs. You will manage material banks, reorder points and manually procure materials as needed to ensure the plant never runs out of indirect/as-required materials. You will work with a cross functional team supporting Materials, Production, Quality and Launch to ensure the plant has what they need when they need it.

What You'll Do:

  • Create a list of all materials needed and re-order cadence
  • Maintain inventory in several plant floor locations
  • Maintain an expense report to ensure all parts/materials are reported appropriately
  • Drive problem solving issues for throughput and quality issues.
  • Provide updates to plant staff and Program Team as required.
  • Analyze existing operations and propose continuous improvements (CI).

Physical Requirements:

  • Quick response to safety instructions, alarms, and signals are a must
  • Drive vehicles and equipment when needed
  • Wear provided PPE (personal protective equipment) as needed when on plant floor
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
  • Navigate a busy warehouse
  • Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach
  • May need to lift or carry materials weighing up to 40 lbs. depending on department

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee).
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing or Manufacturing
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
