Job Summary
Make lending decisions on dealer submitted credit applications in accordance to MACU lending guidelines, building and maintaining dealer relationships through marketing efforts. Provide quality service to members, dealerships, and Indirect Lending Staff members. Represent the credit union in a professional manner.

To be effective, an individual must be able to perform each job duty successfully.
- Underwrites at an individual amount ($75,000) and a higher aggregate ($150,000 MACU debt) in all assigned vehicle financing.
- Analyzes loan applications, credit bureau reports, collateral, member account information and other loan documentation in a timely and thorough manner to make consistent, sound lending decisions.
- Resolves a range of issues with a high degree of interpersonal skills. Interactions involve gaining the agreement of others that are often difficult or stressful in nature. Maintains confidentiality with others since information involves complex, detailed and often sensitive topics.
- Provides exceptional quality service to dealers, members and other MACU employees.
- Requires a basic knowledge of government regulations, compliance issues and credit bureau terminology that includes credit bureau interpretations and fixes.
- Provide exceptional service to assigned dealer partners through multi-mode communications.
- Attains and possesses a working knowledge of the core system and loan origination systems.
- Maintains current knowledge of MACUs lending policies and loan origination processes from beginning to end.
- Maintains mutually beneficial lending channels with vendors and merchants participating in our Automotive Indirect Lending Program.
- Maintains and expands a quality loan portfolio as outlined in the MACU loan policy statement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Experience:
- 6 months of related underwriting experience in a fast-paced professional lending environment with a proven track record.
Education:
- Associates degree, or higher, from an accredited institution in business, marketing, finance, economics or related field, OR 2 additional years combined with experience time in a progressive underwriting financial setting. Education will be verified.
Licenses, Certifications, Registrations
- Maintain MACU loan certification
Managerial Responsibility
- Has no managerial responsibilities
Computer/Office Equipment Skills
- Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Work, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experienced with analytical and reporting software preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with Symitar, CUDL, Allegro, Lending 360 preferred.
Language Skills
- Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas, methodology, results and recommendations verbally, in writing and through insightful reports and graphic illustrations
- Demonstrated ability to adjust communication content and style to meet the needs of the audience

- Self-starter with strong organizing and time management skills and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and timelines
