RSM US LLP is seeking an experienced and dynamic Assurance National Office Leader to join our RSM US Integrated Services India Private Limited entity in India. This pivotal role is a member of the National Professional Standards Group (NPSG) leadership team, reporting to the National Office Leader. The National Office Leader – India is responsible for leading the National Professional Standards Group (NPSG) in India alongside their US counterparts. NPSG brings together experts to help the firm’s partners and staff translate from the technical to the practical to deliver first-in-class audit quality. NPSG is a strategic asset that is industry aligned, responsive, transparent and at the forefront of emerging issues, ensuring our partners, staff and clients can quickly address complex matters. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in building and leading the NPSG India team and being part of the Assurance NPSG leadership team which will lead the firm’s Assurance practice through an ever-evolving business and technological landscape and ensuring the practice has a robust system of quality control. The National Office Leader -India will work closely with NPSG leadership and will collaborate with the Assurance Leaders in India as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit Quality: Assist in the development and implementation of the firm’s audit quality improvement strategy. Cultivate a culture within the firm with a relentless commitment to audit quality.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning within the team. Mentor and develop staff at all levels, ensuring a pipeline of future leaders. Participate in ‘tone at the top’ initiatives to enhance the firm’s culture of audit quality.
  • Assurance and Accounting Policy: Develop, implement and maintain policies that ensure the highest level of assurance and compliance with current accounting standards.
  • Methodology Development: Supports the development and refinement of assurance methodologies to maintain relevance and effectiveness.
  • Training and Awareness: Supports the development and implementation of training programs to effectively communicate the methodology, standards and internal and regulatory inspection findings.
  • Professional Practice Consultations: Supports the delivery of expert guidance on complex assurance and accounting issues, ensuring that teams across the practice receive the necessary support to navigate challenging engagements and uphold the highest standards of audit quality.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • 18+ years in a senior assurance leadership role, including experience with PCAOB/SEC environments
  • 5+ years in leadership role
  • B.Com in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Deep expertise in audit standards, regulatory compliance, and audit quality programs
  • Proven experience leading large, multinational teams and managing regulatory remediation efforts
  • Expert knowledge of and compliance with GAAP/GAAS/PCAOB standards and SEC regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record in leading large multinational business.
  • Demonstrated experience leading audit quality programs and managing complex regulatory remediations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and develop future leaders
  • Strong executive presence, judgment, and professional skepticism
  • Recognized as a technical expert with strong communication and influence skills

  • MBA in Accounting or Finance
