The Team:
The candidate will be part of the Universe Management (UM) which is responsible for the data supporting the maintenance and calculation of S&P Dow Jones Indices. This is a global and collaborative team, committed to maintaining the integrity and quality of our financial indices, where every team member is encouraged to contribute to team initiatives to improve relative business areas and processes.
The Impact:
The Index Production Analyst will research stock and company information for all companies of an assigned portfolio, corporate actions such as dividends and splits, rights offering, attribute assignments etc. The Index Production Analyst must therefore have an understanding of global equity markets and will focus primarily on APAC equity markets. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of index data, directly impacting the integrity of our global index range and the financial markets we serve.
What’s in it for you:
This is a global role, with the opportunity to fully support the Global Universe Management team and Index Management & Production Group (IMPG). The Index Production Analyst is responsible for researching and screening details and events for an assigned group of companies within the APAC region and ensures these events are reflected accurately in our global index range. You will gain exposure to diverse financial markets and complex corporate actions, contributing to critical financial infrastructure while performing work effectively under general guidance and direction.
Responsibilities:
Research and verify corporate actions and dividends, inputting them into proprietary databases according to operational procedures and S&P Dow Jones Indices’ Equity Indices Policies & Practices - Methodology. You will proactively monitor multiple news sources for new corporate action announcements and take accountability for individual/team targets, ensuring data quality and adherence to strict deadlines across multiple markets.
Ensure all entries are verified and supporting evidence is stored and retained, particularly when data sources present conflicting information. You will provide guidance and clarification to support the team in delivering quality work, resolving issues that are often varied and non-routine, and supporting and exchanging basic technical or factual information with immediate team and routine stakeholders.
Provide 23/5 operational support for US continuous trading and APAC markets extended trading hours, including backup functions for other team members and assigned QA tasks.
Proactively communicate any major issues to team members, Senior Analyst or Team Lead, and efficiently answer queries on corporate actions relayed by S&P Dow Jones Indices’ Client Services. This includes clear communication and coordination with other team members and global teams on over-lapping tasks to ensure seamless handovers from region to region and team to team, as well as a clear handover process between shifts (status, updated corporate action events, pending queries etc.).
Demonstrate a strong customer focus by acting with urgency and responsiveness to customer enquiries, setting and managing expectations, striving to exceed them, and using effective questioning and listening skills to identify needs.
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 3-5+ years of experience in financial data research, corporate actions processing, or index operations.
A demonstrable understanding of global financial markets.
• Preferably Bachelor’s degree in finance and other related courses.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential along with knowledge of Python (in particular), SQL and/or VBA.
 Excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities, coupled with strong verbal and written communications skills. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential, enabling you to effectively interpret and clarify technical information to aid understanding.
• Must be proficient in interpreting and analyzing corporate filings and related documents, and applying that analysis to the data inputs underlying S&P DJI Indices.
Demonstrates strong power skills, including Emotional Intelligence by actively listening and seeking to understand other perspectives and concerns.
Exhibits Collaboration by actively participating and contributing towards team goals.
Possesses effective Time Management skills, prioritizing tasks based on their importance and urgency, focusing on high-priority/high-impact tasks.

We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer. 

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Additional language skills (except English) such as Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean would be considered an advantage
