As an Independent Advisor to the People and Culture Committee, you will provide expert insight, independent perspective, and constructive challenge to support effective governance and decision-making. You will play a key role in strengthening oversight by contributing specialist knowledge across people, culture, and workforce matters, while remaining advisory and non-decision-making.
Working alongside Committee members, you’ll help ensure robust scrutiny, informed discussions, and high-quality assurance that supports the organisation’s strategic objectives.
Provide independent, specialist advice on people and culture matters, including HR, workforce, and organisational development
Contribute professional insight and best practice to inform committee discussions and decisions
Offer constructive challenge to Executive leads and Committee members to support effective governance
Support the Committee in understanding risk, testing assurance, and identifying areas for improvement
Attend quarterly meetings, preparing in advance by reviewing papers and contributing meaningfully to discussions
Provide ad hoc advice outside of meetings where required
Maintain independence while upholding organisational values, confidentiality, and professional standards
Declare and appropriately manage any conflicts of interest
