The Digital In Silico Research team is a key innovation engine within Digital R&D, dedicated to pioneering next-generation digital products that reshape how R&D discovers, designs, and develops new medicines. We harness cutting-edge AI, machine learning, and computational modeling to build transformative in-silico solutions—empowering scientists with predictive insights, streamlining complex workflows, and turning data into decisive action. As the In Silico Data Visualization and Decision Support Product Line Owner, you will be responsible for leading the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of data visualization and decision support solutions that enable scientific insights across R&D. You will own key transversal platform products including interactive dashboards for data exploration and AI-powered decision support systems (agentic systems) that autonomously gather insights, recommend actions, and assist scientists in complex decision-making workflows. You will serve as a critical interface between scientific business functions and Data Products teams, ensuring that our data access and visualization capabilities meet the evolving needs of our scientists and researchers.

 

You will collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders across multiple business functions to ensure that transversal in silico capabilities are aligned with business needs and effectively integrated into scientific workflows. Your expertise will be instrumental in building robust data foundations and analytical frameworks that enable scientists to leverage advanced technologies for drug discovery and translational research.

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Strategic Leadership & Innovation: Define and execute the enterprise-wide strategic vision for Data Visualization and Decision Support, establishing multi-year roadmaps that drive competitive advantage and organizational transformation

  • Organizational Impact & Decision Authority: Drive high-level prioritization decisions across multiple product lines, balancing business value, strategic alignment, and resource allocation with budgetary accountability

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of product managers, data visualization experts and cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence while developing next-generation product leadership talent

  • Executive Stakeholder Management: Partner directly with senior business partners across R&D and Digital business functions to align product strategy with organizational objectives and secure strategic investments

  • External Partnerships & Industry Leadership: Establish and manage strategic partnerships with leading technology vendors, academic institutions, and industry consortiums to drive innovation and maintain competitive positioning

  • Enterprise Platform Governance: Oversee enterprise-wide platform architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, compliance, and alignment with global Digital strategy while driving standardization across multiple regions

  • Cross-Organizational Collaboration: Lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives spanning discovery sciences, translational research, computational biology, data engineering, ML/AI teams, portfolio management, and therapeutic area leadership globally

  • Business Strategy Integration: Translate business strategy into technical roadmaps and ensure product outcomes directly contribute to organizational KPIs and strategic objectives

  • Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis: Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions and maintain market leadership

  • Change Management & Adoption: Drive organizational change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption of new capabilities across global teams and functions

 

About You

Education: Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.  

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in technical product management, data product leadership, or scientific computing roles within life sciences or pharmaceutical R&D

  • Minimum 5 years working directly with scientific research teams, understanding their data workflows and decision-making processes

  • Demonstrated track record of delivering data visualization or analytics products from concept to adoption in a research environment

  • Experience managing products through full lifecycle including user research, requirements gathering, prioritization, delivery, and iteration based on feedback

  • Proven experience in strategic planning, roadmap development, and executive-level stakeholder management with P&L accountability

 

Skills:

  • Strong technical understanding of scientific data types common in drug discovery (e.g., omics data, imaging data, clinical data, molecular data) and how to effectively visualize complex scientific datasets

  • Experience working with computational biology, cheminformatics, or translational research data; workflows in a scientific research environment

  • Experience in or good understanding of Pharma R&D portfolio optimization in large pharma, or demonstrated ability to learn the business quickly

  • Proficiency with enterprise data visualization platforms (e.g., Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI, Plotly) and understanding of when to apply different visualization approaches

  • Working knowledge of data science and engineering workflows, including familiarity with Python, R, SQL, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), APIs, and data integration patterns

  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects or programs

  • Strong stakeholder management skills including networking, influencing, negotiating

  • Excellent communication and active listening skills, with ability to understand end-to-end data needs and ensure products address specific use cases

The salary range for this position is:

$148,125.00 - $213,958.33
