In Charge Person

Job Description Summary: 

The In-Charge Person is an employee who is not assigned to a particular cottage, but maintains the responsibilities assigned to Residential Psych Techs. They provide services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance abuse and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often times have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. They demonstrate a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery.  They will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received.  They are subject to mandatory overtime.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Responsibilities:

• Working knowledge of and be able to proficiently perform the duties of a residential psych tech.
• Must display appropriate communication skills and be able to delegate responsibilities and directives regularly.
• Must collect and review all necessary documentation at the end of each shift to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Will know emergency procedures, guide the cottages concerning emergencies as they arise and make outside contacts within Ozark Center or outside contacts when necessary concerning emergency situations.
• Responsible for contacting all cottages at the beginning of the shift for initial contact and will roam throughout the shift in order to assess and assist staff as necessary.
• Assist Operations Supervisor in scheduling and cottage assignments of residential psych techs if needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Normal residential group environment. 
• Medium physical effort requires handling of average weigh objects of up to 50 pounds and standing and walking. 
• Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and to work irregular hours and deal with irate individuals.
• TB test upon hire.
