Within the Partner Solutions channel, we partner with Independent Sales Organizations (ISOs), Financial Service Providers (FSPs), and Payment Facilitators (PFACs) to onboard and implement merchants efficiently across retail and wholesale models.
We are seeking an experienced Director of Implementation to lead our Implementation team responsible for the successful onboarding and integration of retail ISOs (RISO), wholesale ISOs (WISO), FSPs, and PFACs. This leadership role will drive operational excellence, manage a high-performing team, oversee key implementation projects, and champion continuous efficiency improvements to scale our partner ecosystem and enhance merchant acquiring
outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 6 Implementation Analysts and Managers, fostering a collaborative, results-oriented culture focused on partner satisfaction and timely delivery.
- Oversee the end-to-end implementation lifecycle for partners in the merchant acquiring space, including retail ISOs, wholesale ISOs, FSPs, and PFACs, ensuring smooth onboarding, configuration, testing, training, and go-live.
- Manage a portfolio of high-priority or complex implementation projects personally, while delegating and providing oversight on the broader team workload.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders—including Sales, Partner Management, Product, Risk/Compliance, Operations, and Technology to align on requirements, resolve blockers, and deliver seamless partner experiences.
- Drive the adoption of efficiency measures, process optimizations, automation opportunities, and best practices to reduce implementation timelines, minimize errors, and improve scalability.
- Establish and monitor key performance metrics (KPIs) for the team, such as on-time delivery, partner satisfaction scores, implementation cycle time, and defect rates; report regularly to senior leadership.
- Identify risks and dependencies in partner implementations; proactively mitigate issues to ensure successful outcomes and maintain Fiserv's reputation for reliability.
- Stay current on industry trends in merchant acquiring, payment facilitation models, regulatory changes, and Fiserv platform enhancements to inform team strategies and process improvements.
- Contribute to strategic planning for the Partner Solutions channel, including capacity planning, resource allocation, and roadmap input for implementation tools and processes.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in payments, merchant acquiring, or fintech implementation/project management roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Proven track record leading implementation/onboarding teams for ISOs, FSPs, PayFacs/PFACs, or similar partner models in merchant services/acquiring.
- Deep understanding of merchant acquiring ecosystems, including retail/wholesale ISO structures, payment facilitator models, boarding processes, risk/compliance requirements, and integration with processing platforms.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams of 5+ direct reports.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements, adopt efficiency tools/automation, and deliver measurable results in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent project management skills; PMP certification or equivalent experience a plus.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience working across sales, operations, product, and technical teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred)
Preferred
- Direct experience working at Fiserv (or legacy First Data) in Partner Solutions, Merchant Services, or related channels.
- Familiarity with Fiserv's merchant acquiring platforms, Clover ecosystem, or partner integration tools.
- Experience managing implementations involving multiple partner types (e.g., retail/wholesale ISOs, FSPs, PFACs) and complex regulatory/compliance considerations.
