Job Summary:  

An Immunization Registry Coordinator implements and maintains an Immunization Registry for Baltimore City. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties.

Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional work week. Work is performed in offices where there is minimal exposure to environmental hazards. Work requires minimal physical exertion.

Minimum Qualifications:                             

On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must:  

Education: Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. 

AND 

Experience: Have three years of experience in community health database management and information networking.

OR 

Equivalency Notes: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of information sciences in both personal computing and network (LAN, WAN) environments including system architecture and development, telecommunication linked connectivity, operating systems, rudimentary programming, PC and Network maintenance and repair, training, software troubleshooting, and other service support activities.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices involved in relational database design, implementation and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of the biomedical sciences and public health, especially as they relate to the control of childhood communicable diseases.
  • Ability to understand and resolve technical and administrative problems and constraints involved in administering information networks across public and private sector health service organizations.
  • Ability to apply statistical methodology in the demographic and epidemiological analysis of collected data.

Background Check                                        

Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed. 

Probation 

All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory six-month probation.

Eligibility 

Qualified candidates will be considered for vacancies as they arise, for a period of at least six months. The decision of the Director of Human Resources with respect to acceptable minimum qualifications is final.                         

Education Accreditation 

Applicants’ education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Education credentials obtained out of the US must be evaluated for US equivalency. Evaluation agencies information may be obtained at www.naces.org.
